Maria here, CCH’s new Retrofit Associate. I am enthusiastic to introduce myself and tell you more about our enhanced Retrofit Service.
My background is in architecture and I have come to love working with existing buildings while volunteering at the Abbedayle Picture House in Sheffield during my student years.
Over the last decade, I have worn a few different hats in retrofit. I have designed and delivered projects of all scales across the UK, each grounded in low-carbon, sustainable interventions. My work spans initial assessments through to complex technical details and project management, always centred on actively involving my clients throughout the retrofit journey.
With retrofit being in the news constantly over the last few years, many housing organisations have decided to explore retrofit as a way to meet net zero and EPC targets. We understand the barriers these objectives can pose, and our new Retrofit Services are designed to help you navigate them, while also keeping sustainability at the centre.
Drawing on our experience from the previous CCH Retrofit Service and looking at how retrofit is evolving nationwide, we have designed our services to cover all aspects of a retrofit project, from start to finish. Find out more about our Retrofit Service here [login required].
This new service retains the Wayshaper Sustainable Homes Toolkit workshops and the funding support services, while also providing:
- retrofit planning support for property stocks at co-op level
- whole house assessments
- medium term improvement plans
- retrofit design
- technical support
- retrofit coordination and consultancy under PAS2035
- project management
- retrofit & decarbonisation training
Our Retrofit Service is flexible to your needs and goals, as we recognise that different co-operatives have different approaches and organisational structures. Our aim is to help you upgrade your housing stock as efficiently as possible, while also supporting you in reducing carbon emissions and future-proofing your homes.
