- UK organisation for housing co-operatives, tenant-controlled housing organisations and regional federations of housing co-ops (one of the three national tenant organisations).

- Community Land Trust
- non-profit making community-driven organisation - a mechanism for the democratic ownership and use of land by the local community (see Mutual Home Ownership).
- CTE
- Community Training & Enabling grant
- a grant regime that the Housing Corporation introduced in 2000 to enable RSLs, RSL tenants, RSL staff etc to do something in relation to Community Training and Enabling, and assist tenants to establish organisations and ideas themselves. (NB – doesn’t exist any more)

- a model for setting up TMOs which involves having a majority of tenants and council representation on the board of management.

- Homes and Communities Agency
- Europe's largest housing and regeneration agency. It has the responsibility for delivering the Government's housing and regeneration programmes with a budget of over £5 billion and a remit which includes supporting the delivery of three million new homes by 2020.

- independent, non-governmental association which unites, represents and serves co-operatives worldwide, CCH is a member of the Housing Sector branch.

- the organisation that represents local authorities.

- Mutual Home Ownership
- new form of mutual home ownership co-operative enabling residents to have an equity stake in their home, used in combination with a Community Land Trust [see CLT]

- the organisation that represents tenant management co-ops, estate management boards and other forms of tenant management organisations in England.

- the organisation that represents 1,300 not-for-profit housing associations in England and campaign for better housing and neighbourhoods.

- National Tenants Voice
- independent, tenant-led, non departmental social housing watchdog that will crack down on registered social landlords in England who are giving tenants a poor service.

- a housing association that has a majority of tenants on the board of management.

- regional organisations set up by government to develop economic and social solutions for each region.

- Housing organisations registered with the Housing Corporation / HCA.

- the legal right that enables council tenants to set up TMOs.

- The organisation set up by government to look at solutions to social exclusion.
- STATUS SURVEYS
- A survey of your tenants used to report on tenant satisfaction and performance.

- the national umbrella organisation for Tenants and Residents Associations within England.
- TMC
- Tenant Management Co-operative
- a model for setting up TMOs based on the co-operative model.
- TMO
- Tenant Management Organisation
- collective name for tenant organisations which manage properties through a management agreement with the landlord, either the council or a housing association.
- TSA
- Tenants Service Authority
- independent regulatory body with powers to cut red tape for registered social landlords and wider ranging ability to take action where tenants are not getting a fair deal (formerly the regulation department of the Housing Corporation).
