Representation
Four organisations have applied for membership of the CCH in the last quarter:
- Sanford Housing Co-op
- Hornsey Lane EMB
- Belmo
- Notting Dale Housing Co-op
The CCH now has 179 member organisations.
Policy
The CCH's co-operation in housing strategy, jointly agreed by the Co-operative Union and the Co-operative Party, has been moved forward in the following areas:
Community Gateway Model
The CCH, Chartered Institute of Housing and Co-operative Union continue to work on the Community Gateway Model. The CGM, originally designed as a stock transfer model, is now being adapted for various other scenarios.
Best practice in community control for RSLs programme
This programme is on schedule. A fieldwork research report and an outline of the good practice guide have been produced and this will lead to work to compile the Good Practice Guide by January 2003. A dissemination programme will follow on from this.
Community Land Trusts
The feasibility report for the Community Land Trust programme is to be launched at a regional Birmingham seminar (regionally targeted) on 5th July. A national seminar will be held in London in January 2003.
The CCH has requested that the All Party Political Grouping on Housing Co-ops propose an Early Day Motion on the extension of the Right to Manage to Housing Associations in parliament.
The CCH was also represented at a meeting arranged by the Community Housing Task Force to discuss stock transfer guidance.
The CCH has led the housing co-op movement's response to the Law Commission's consultation programme on a single tenancy. Responses are due to the consultation by 12th July.
Promotion
The next CCH annual conference will be held in March 2003. Venues for the conference are currently be investigated.

- ICA Housing Committee in Ankara
- CDS Co-operatives housing co-ops weekend
Research
The CCH's research on Tenant Control and Social Exclusion; on service provision to housing co-ops; our database of policies and procedures and the CCH Code of Governance for fully mutual housing co-ops remain available.
The CCH's Code of Governance for TMOs has now been circulated to TMOs by ODPM.
The CCH also attended an ODPM meeting on Oxford Brookes University's current research into TMOs. Following on from this, the CCH is investigating whether Oxford Brookes will be able to carry out a similar piece of research into housing co-ops.
Publicity
The CCH's interactive website continues to be sited at http://www.cch-uk.org/. The CCH also now operates a discussion list for serious housing co-op afficienados!
