CCH Bulletin Winter 2009
The Newsletter of the Co-operative and Mutual Housing Sector in England and Wales.
In this issue :
- Bringing Democracy Home
- "By 2030, each town, village and community should be able to offer co-operative and mutual housing options to potential residents" - setting this ambitious aim, the Commission for Co-operative and Mutual Housing launched its long awaited "Bringing Democracy Home" report in Parliament on 24th November 2009.
- Tenant Services Authority - The Standard Bearers
- It’s been a standing joke in the housing co-op movement that, despite the Housing Corporation’s decades of antagonism to co-ops and tenants in general, we have outlasted them!
- National Tenant Voice - From Grass Roots to Government
- No doubt readers were eagerly awaiting royal assent to the snappily titled Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Bill, but the importance to tenants of its passage is that it allows the Government to fund the National Tenant Voice, the new body being set up to ensure that tenants have a voice in Government.
- Annual Conference 2009
- Shock horror! July 2009 saw over three hundred tenants from housing co-ops and tenant management organisations invade the hallowed turf of Windsor - more renowned for it's castle and Eton College!
